In the province of Cavite, on the southern shores of Manila Bay and close to Manila City, is the Philippines’ new golf Mecca. The largest golf facility in the country, Eagle Ridge boasts four championship courses designed by such legendary names as Isao Aoki, Andy Dye, Nick Faldo and Greg Norman, that will suit all skill levels and playing preferences.
The facilities at Eagle Ridge are extensive. Inspired by Spanish Mission architecture, the Main Clubhouse is a sprawling complex of country club and golf club amenities. Two satellite golf clubhouses service the Aoki and Dye courses. Aside from the three golf clubhouses, the Family & Sports clubhouse offers everything from badminton to bowling to movies and a resort-style swimming pool. Indeed, there is something for each member of the family at Eagle Ridge.
A 60-room Microtel Inn & Suites is located within the premises. The site is about 50 kilometers from Makati. The restaurants, picturesque views and casino of Tagaytay are a 30-minute ride away.
With his unorthodox putting style, Isao Aoki has become a resounding name in the Asian golf circuit.
At Eagle Ridge, he has taken advantage of the distinct topography to create a superb championship course where many levels of difficulty present a challenge to players time and again.
The Aoki Course was deliberately designed for the weekend golfer with its wide open fairways and negligible rough. The course is not that heavily contoured or bunkered but some of the greens could display a problem if you end up on the wrong side of the pin placement.
In deference to its designer, the clubhouse has sushi bar and fishponds. Even the lockers allow for a Japanese style bath and sauna.
